Without clean water we cannot survive.Emergildo Criollo, Cofan Leader
Over the last fifty years, the rivers and streams of Ecuador’s northern Amazon have been poisoned by oil contamination. Without access to clean water, the physical and cultural survival of five Amazonian indigenous groups is in peril.
ClearWater is partnering with the Cofan, Siona, Secoya, Kichwa and Waorani people of northeastern Ecuador to build a movement for clean water and cultural survival. Our goal is to provide every indigenous family with access to life’s most basic need: clean water.
